This video features Dr. Don Buford speaking with a baseball player who was previously suffering from a partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his right elbow.
Before seeing Dr. Buford, the patient had been experiencing severe pain that prevented him from throwing. Rest did not improve the condition, and his previous doctor had suggested that surgery might be the only option after reviewing an MRI scan.
Instead of surgery, Dr. Buford treated the patient non-operatively. The treatment plan began with a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection, followed by a stem cell procedure a month later.
The video serves as a follow-up three months after the stem cell procedure. The patient reports that his pain is completely gone, rating his improvement at nearly 100%. He has also successfully returned to a throwing program without issue.
